I've been trying to remember the name of an old kids show from the 80s for years, and it's finally bugging me enough to ask lol.

What I remember from it is that it took place in like a general store, and there was a scientist who lived there or worked there and had a time machine in the closet. It also had an old man and his grandson and there may have been puppets. I distinctly remember the scientist singing a song about how fun libraries are.

So does anyone know what this show was?
