Operation Entertainment (Special) (1979)

Benefit concerts for Vietnamese refugees telecast live from Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal and Charlottetown. Each segment had as host a Canadian personality, with Johnny Wayne and Frank Shuster as the national hosts in Ottawa. The nonprofit, fundraising benefit was designed to welcome the boat people and raise money for organizations who were assisting their relocation in Canada. Money was raised by ticket sales to each of the concerts and by the program's advertising revenue.
