Tapp Room (Series) (1955-1958)

Tapp Room
Tapp Room was one of the first television talk shows of its kind and established Jimmy Tapp as one of the best-known English-speaking personalities in Montreal television. It was a late-night interview show in which Tapp chatted with the various show-business celebrities and nightclub entertainers who visited Montreal. During the life of Tapp Room, 84 percent of the mail received at the station was related to that show. The program was broadcast locally before going national in 1956. With its nightclub setting, and a backdrop of the Montreal skyline, the show welcomed such stars as Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr., Joan Crawford and Tony Bennett.
