Take Thirty (Series) (1962-1984)

Aka: Take 30; Thirty From... ; Take 60

Take Thirty
Take 30 was a long-lived CBC weekday afternoon public affairs show. It was originally designed as a so-called women's show. In the opening seasons, each day of the week was devoted to a different general subject: entertainment, household advice, public affairs, men's taste, and travel. However, the series evolved into a much more vital program of documentaries, commentary, and other features than that early description might have indicated.

During the summer months, in addition to repeat broadcasts from the previous season, for several years it was replaced by 30 From... (in which the names of a regional production centre filled the blank). Moreover, for several seasons in the 1970s, it took a place in the prime time schedule and, during the 1973-74 season, alternated with an hour-long version called Take 60.

This with Mr. Fix IT, is a show I knew existed, but never bothered investigating. Too young, I guess!
