Speaking French (Series) (1955-1964)

Professor Jean-Paul Vinay of the University of Montreal was the teacher for this language instruction series. Vinay tried to teach in an entertaining fashion and in the early years of the broadcast, he also used graphic illustrations, flip cards and puppets. The series started in 1955, on the local Montreal and Toronto stations, and expanded its coverage as the CBC network expanded.
