From 1977 to 1982, the CBC presented Quarterly Report, usually 90 minutes in length, on issues of national interest. Subjects varied from an assessment of current federal-provincial relations to unemployment to issues of the environment and industry. Some programs were particularly topical, such as the broadcasts on the Quebec referendum of 1980 and on the Canadian constitution, in the wake of Pierre Trudeau's drive for patriation.
