Nanalan' (Series) (1998-2004)

Created by the internationally acclaimed puppet troupe The Grogs, Nanalan' invites viewers to join a delightful three-year-old girl named Mona on her exciting adventures at her Nana's house. Together with her best friend Russell the dog, Mona explores, discovers and learns what it's like to be three and free. Nanalan' is a show that celebrates the sensory world of preschoolers, and instantly connects with their heightened sense of wonder and amazement at all that surrounds them. With a hug and a kiss, Mona's mother drops Mona off at her Nana's in the morning and picks her up at the end of the day. In between, life is one great adventure for Mona, Russell, and the ever-nurturing Nana. Nanalan' is a show designed to foster children's curiosity and love of learning, with the hope they will carry it with them as they grow.

The Nanalan' characters first appeared in 1998 in a series of 72 3-minute shorts on YTV, but moved to a half-hour series on CBC in 2003.
