8302: MONSTER AT THE BLUFF

While the Edisons investigate a suspicious looking set of 'monster' footprints, Paul becomes spooked and accidentally falls down the bluffs. Tom and Annie use the knowledge of leverage and gravity to devise a pulley system (Atwood's Pulley) to lower their brother to safety.

Paul causes havoc when he decides to borrow a new robot invention of Tom's to gain access to a junkyard. The junkyard is nearly destroyed when the robot malfunctions, trapping the owner under a fallen car. Tom and his robot come to the rescue. Tom explains how his robot functions using the science of feedback.

Paul succeeds in getting a famous sixties rock star ("Chops Dorfman") to give a surprise concert at his parents' anniversary party. When the real musical instruments become unavailable. Tom and Annie must improvise. By applying their knowledge of how air vibrations and resonance create musical sounds, they make their own instruments from household junk.

Annie befriends a new boy at school who is later accused of arson because of his past record of juvenile offences. Tom and Annie apply their knowledge of colour theory, light and reflection to prove his innocence.

Identical twin cousins come to visit the Edison twins and both sets of twins end up arguing. While Paul gets himself in hot water by selling tickets to a Spacewalk Ride that doesn't work, both sets of twins agree to work together to help Paul out of his predicament. A rainbow contest with clues and a hidden $5000.00 prize gets everyone involved in a treasure hunt. Terry and Paul team up only to get lost in the woods, and Tom and Annie get lost trying to find them. By applying his knowledge of radio waves and frequency, Tom uses his radio as a compass to get them out of the woods...but not before Paul finds the hidden treasure!

8311: DIAMONDS

Paul decides to help Tom out with a geology assignment by buying some rocks for him, but instead he is accidentally sold some real 'hot' diamonds instead. To retrieve his diamonds, the thief breaks into the workshop and later, kidnaps Paul. Tom has a picture of the thief though. He had just constructed and installed a camera in their workshop which operates on the principle of infrared and heat sensitive photography. Tom and Annie use the photograph to locate and rescue Paul.

8312: DOGS


While Paul is looking after a neighbourhood dog, someone manages to steal the dog. The Edisons discover that several neighbourhood dogs have been stolen and they organize a search party to recover the stolen pets. Tom and Annie apply their knowledge of sound to construct a parabolic microphone to help them pinpoint the location of the thieves' hideout so they can free the dogs.

8313: THE RACE

The Edisons are planning to enter a swimming contest in which the swimmers can use any device to help them win the race; the only rule is, it must be powered by muscle. When Tom realizes that he's not a very good swimmer, the Edisons decide to back another swimmer who can win the race. Tom and Annie apply their knowledge of physics and surface tension and help their swimmer increase his speed to win the race.

8401: GHOST FOR SALE

Paul is challenged to spend several hours in the old Murdock house to prove it isn't haunted. Even with Tom and Annie along to keep things scientific, strange sounds and apparitions confront the Edisons, convincing Paul the house is haunted by a ghost. Annie and Tom apply their knowledge of laser photography to create a holographic image that will scare the Murdock ghost out into the open.

The Edisons' Uncle Ted comes for a visit and entrusts Tom with a rare coin. Paul mistakenly gives the coin to a friend who spends it, and an extensive search ensues. Tom and Annie use their knowledge of electricity and magnetic fields to turn an electromagnet into a simple metal detector to help them find the coin.

8403: ENEMY OF WESTON

With the annual Charity Picnic just a week away, Annie discovers that the local swimming pond is polluted. She meets resistance wherever she takes her evidence, however, as nobody wants the picnic cancelled. The twins, with the help of Paul and Joey, set out to catch the culprit who is dumping toxic chemicals into the pond. Annie uses various water analysis techniques to prove that there are dangerous chemicals in the pond, and the twins design and build a simple seismograph to help them catch the trucker who's dumping the chemicals.

8404: SNAKES AND LADDERS

Tom is saddled with looking after a friend's boa constrictor for the weekend. When Paul discovers Tom's secret, he and Joey accidentally let the snake out of the bag, and the search begins through the house for the missing snake while the Edisons simultaneously try to help mom prepare for the evening's dinner party for the Chamber Music Society. In an animated scientific explanation, Albert explains the various means of camouflage that snakes use to avoid detection.

The local newspaper is sponsoring an amateur photo contest and Paul decides to enter. When a mysterious unidentified woman takes a serious interest in Paul's photos and negatives, Annie and Tom decide to look deeper into the pictures and investigate. The Edisons' knowledge of photo developing and enlarging exposes the real reason for the woman's interest in the photos and helps save their community-minded newspaper from extinction.

While playing football with his friends, Paul finds a money clip that was dropped by a man he saw stumble past their game. A distinctive logo on the money clip leads Paul to the owner, the head of a large corporation; but when Paul sees the man again, he's convinced the man is not the same man he saw in the park. Annie and Tom use their knowledge of voice production and wave frequency analysis to help investigate and expose an imposter.

Paul tries everyone's patience as he turns punk-rock guitarist and claims to have picked up transmissions from outer space on his guitar amplifier. When Lance's car is stolen, Annie and Tom investigate and discover Paul's space transmissions are more important than they thought. The Edisons use their knowledge of sound waves, receivers and amplifiers to expose the spaced out car thieves.

8408: BOOM BOOM EDISON

Annie and Tom are preoccupied with a series of tests they are undergoing to gain acceptance into the student Summer Astronaut Orientation program, and they've given Paul permission to use the workshop to find a cure for his incurable hiccups. While Annie and Tom are fulfilling the 'sleep deprivation' part of their testing, Paul sets chemistry in notion and accidentally concocts a dangerous explosive compound. In the animated science explanation, the Edisons explain how chemists combine and recombine molecules to produce a chemical reaction and form new materials.

Annie has her heart set on breaking the 45 year old speeder record for tricycles and has enlisted the help of Tom to design and build the record breaking tricycle, and none other that Barney "Rubberknees" Youngfield, the original record holder, as her coach. During Annie's training, the team begins to suspect that someone is out to sabotage Annie's plans. In the animated explanation, Albert explains the science of streamlining, and how the Edisons applied these principles to the design and construction of Annie's specialized tricycle.

8410: GO FLY A KITE

Tom and Brian plan to launch a model rocket. They borrow and install Mr. Edison's valuable altimeter in the rocket to record the height of the victorious launch. Their troubles multiply on the day of the launch when the rocket veers our of control, gets lost in the forest, and Paul - in charge of security - claims to have seen spies in the forest who are after the rocket. Using her knowledge of aerodynamics and a camera mounted on a parafoil kite, Annie helps Tom and Brian find their rocket, and also sheds some light on the curious activities Paul has seen in the forest.

8415: RUNNING ON EMPTY

Annie and her best friend, Gayle, are training for an important race that could lead to the Olympics. Gayle, in her zeal to excel, goes overboard in her diet to lose weight. Realizing that good nutrition is an essential ingredient to an athlete's success, Annie tries to alert Gayle and her coach to the potential dangers. Paul and Joey find a baby elephant and decide to build a home for her. Tom and Annie learn that the boys' new pet has escaped from an exhibit of Indian treasures, and they persuade Paul to return the elephant.

The elephant again escapes from the exhibit, now wearing the priceless, jewel studded Pali Harness. The elephant returns to Paul and Joey, but the harness has mysteriously vanished. The elephant's trainer is arrested for the crime. Tom and Annie are convinced the trainer is innocent and devise a plan to re-enact the crime to expose the real thief.

Tom and Annie offer to run the restaurant for a day so they can witness the mysterious ghost. During the ensuing pandemonium, Tom and Annie use their knowledge ofelectromagnetic interference to discover the criminal source of the poltergeist.

Intent on saving the financially troubled Weston Lanes bowling Alley, Lance persuades Tom and Annie to join his team for the annual bowling tournament. Lance, who is usually very lucky, sees his luck and the team's chances for winning slipping away until Tom and Annie prove that skill and fair play are more important than luck.

When Lance is almost arrested for trying to use phony concert tickets, Tom and Annie try to track down the man who gave Lance the bad tickets. Their chase leads to an abandoned warehouse where they get trapped in the basement. Out Annie devises a plan get them out of the warehouse and catch the counterfeiters.

8601 - THE MYSTERY OF THE MAZE
- The twins move into their university residence and uncover a cryptic letter that hints of unsolved murder. Leaving Tom to juggle packing crates, Annie, Paul and Joey set off to investigate, but when another clue is brought into light, Tom joins in the search to expose the body that's been buried for thirty years. 8602 - THE INITIATION - Tom is undergoing a torturous initiation into the engineering fraternity and Annie is having problems in biology. When the professor brings in some rabbits as test subjects, Annie'S outraged lab partner decides to take matters into his own hands and Tom is called in to help Annie save the student from expulsion. (Sep 24, 1986)

8603 - ILLEGAL PROCEDURE - All star quarterback, CLIFF CARTER, is accused of taking drugs and the twins are called in to clear his name. Through chemical analysis and some shifty detective work, Annie discovers the truth while Tom and Nick find a new mascot for the Bayfield Broncos. (Oct 1, 1986)

8604 - THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE - Student election time at Bayfield University puts Tom and Annie in opposing camps until ROXY tells them that neither candidate will support her cause to save a grove of trees. Paul and Joey come to her rescue and before long, they have ROXY running her own campaign and Tom and Annie carrying placards. (Oct 8, 1986)

8605 - THE REVENGE OF THE PLANTS - Tom is coerced into mixing up a batch of fertilizer for the seedlings Annie is germinating for her botany class. When an accident in the lab accelerates the growth of the plants at an alarming rate, Annie is thrilled, until Tom unearths a greenhouse conspiracy. (Oct 15, 1986)

8606 - SUPERSALESMAN - A tutor arrives to help Annie with her business course and Paul is enchanted by his persuasive personality. Nick is convinced that something is wrong and he and Tom set out to discover the cuase of the tutor's mysterious transformation. (Oct 22, 1986)

8607 - THE LEGACY OF BAYFIELD DOWNS - Tom goes horseback riding with Collette Featherstone and Annie is invited to tag along. Before they know it, they are off on a treasure hunt for a lost time capsule containing a secret Collette's father would rather have kept buried. (Oct 29, 1986)

8608 - MONEY FOR NOTHING - Paul and Joey decide to give all their money away and become hippies, but Nick has other plans for Tom and Annie. He knows of a pyramid money scheme that's guaranteed to make them all rich. As Tom is enticed by the lure of easy money, Annie holds fast in her stand against greed. (Nov 5, 1986)

8609 - THE GOLDEN GOOSE CHASE - Out shopping one day, Tom, Annie, and Nick see a fleeing criminal. A suspect is apprehended, but Annie is certain the police have the wrong man. While Paul and Nick practise for a spaghetti eating contest, Tom and Annie'S investigation leads them to a web-footed culprit. (Nov 12, 1986)

8610 - HOW TO HAUNT A HAUNTED HOUSE - On his way to a Fifties revival dance, Tom thinks he sees a ghost in an abandoned house. Spurred on by Annie, Tom gives the houe a thorough search with his scientific equipment that sends Annie on her own investigation of the illusive apparition. (Nov 26, 1986)

8611 - A MESSAGE FOR TRITON - The university computer goes on the fritz and Tom and Annie decide to find out why. Armed with software and security codes, Tom traces the "footprints" of the hacker bent on crashing the system In a countdown to technological chaos. (Dec 3, 1986)

8612 - THE CONTINENTAL TWIST - A foul-up almost causes Annie to miss her trip to Italy, but a friendly travel agent solves the problem and gets invited to dinner. Nick is jealous and certain the travel agent has ulterior motives and drags Tom into a deadly web of international mystery and intrigue. (Nov 19, 1986)

8613 - VOWS FROM THE DEEP - Lance and Lulu have decided to get married, but no one's told her parents. As the big moment rapidly approaches, Tom and Annie rush to the aid of their old friend to get everyone to pool on time. (Dec 10, 1986)
