Catch a Rising Star (Series) (1976)

Catch a Rising Star was a summer series replacing the Tommy Hunter Show, and hosted by Tommy Hunter. The five one-hour showcases of Canadian talent showcased little-know vocal and instrumental groups, solo singers, comedians and other variety performers — who were appraised on each show by a three-member jury of musicians. Some of the established stars performing were the Jimmy Dale Orchestra, Juliette, Al Waxman, Dinah Christie, Jack Duffy, Julie Amato, Dave Broadfoot, Barbara Hamilton, Bill Walker, Catherine McKinnon, and Billy Van.
