Back to the Beanstalk (Special) (1990)

CBC Television presented Back to the Beanstalk, a charming one-hour musical comedy on ice, starring Olympic silver medalist Elizabeth Manley. Manley played the high-spirited Jack Jr., the 13-year-old son of the famous Jack the Giant Killer. The special boasted a star-studded supporting cast: Olympic skating champion Robin Cousins as the elder Jack; Jayne Eastwood as the mother; renowned actor Heath Lambert as Torga the eccentric giant; award-winning actress Sheila McCarthy as Torga's vegetarian wife, Garbanza; Tom Kneebone as the butler; Joe Flaherty, Ben Gordon and Harvey Atkin as three gold-seeking banditos; Al Waxman as the pawnbroker; and Rompin' Ronnie Hawkins as the singing troubador.
