Age of Uncertainty, The (Series) (1977)
The Age Of Uncertainty was a 13-part series written and narrated by internationally renowned economist John Kenneth Galbraith. Its theme was the rise and crisis of industrial society in the last 200 years.
The project was a co-production of the British Broadcasting Corporation with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the public broadcasting system in the United States and the Ontario Educational Communications Authority.
Location filming for the series took place between April, 1975, and July, 1976, in 19 countries, including Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Singapore, Mexico, Pakistan, western Europe, Israel and East Germany. Most programs also featured a central film studio location known as "the social theatre," with specially designed sets to allow Galbraith the opportunity to explain social and economic concepts.
